A poem about polarity and duality.
Why do we think in Black and White?
Pondering only what's wrong and right
Do we just love being verbose?
Or are we just striving to be close?

We can all shine so bright
And yet we try to avoid the light
In each other, we have so much more
But we view kindness as a dreary chore

All I ever wanted is to be free
To laugh with you unequivocally
I want our stars and stripes to sing
And the beauty of our nation to ring

I will never settle for less than peace
Because of what I can do, it's the least
To spread a smile here and there
Until we are smiling everywhere

I no longer see in black and white
For I see no more cause to fight
And when we have that peaceful day
We will all see only shades of Gray
