Taking life's last breath

I put my face against the glass
a puff of air...
was that too much to ask
and yet...
you seemed so full of life
vibrant and true...
now you are just a vapor
a stained glass...
now your temporary home

slowly you began to shrink
removing...
all traces of my breath kiss
as you depart...
taking with you my gentle heart
night and day
you've kept me warm and so alive
now you're gone...
I feel so cold and lost, waiting too
for my time to part...
