A brief poem of a believer's journey from skeptism to salvation
                                                    Why?

Why do we live on this earth
where pain plagues us from our birth?
What should we live for?
After this life is there more?

Is there someone out there?
Is the world in his care?
When time has finished its run,
Will there be someone to tell us “Well done”?

When the world lies in resistance,
do you regret our existence?
Do you frown on our ways,
our vain attempts to explain you away?

All of us live as earthly fiends,
living life by devilish means;
Lying, murdering, stealing,
performing sin without feeling.

Lord, pull us from this fatal mire
for our need be dire;
Redeem us, Oh Lord,
from Satan’s evil hoard.

May life be lived in your sight;
Let us win life’s futile fight;
Equip us with your armor,
from leader to slave to farmer.

For life without you,
is the life of a fool;
The reward you offer
is worth the scorn of the scoffer.
