When love feels like a dream, how do you know if you'll just wake up some day?
Mama doesn’t care a bit,
and papas not even around.
So I sit here in my room,
my sobs the only sound.

A hand extends,
into my dark abyss,
and with one sharp tug,
I find myself in content bliss.

“Could this be real?”
I ask, my voice just barely there,
Terrified of the answer I may receive.

“It is if you want it to be love”
his deep voice replies.
Tears, unwanted,
begin to seep.

I fall to my knees,
and forever,
it seems,
I stay and weep.

For this is all a dream.
It won’t keep.

A dream I have dreamt a thousand times,
it ends the same way.
With sorrow in my eyes.
So when I wake
its no surprise.

But I'll see this through,
Today may be the day,
Maybe my dream
won’t fade away.
