visits to sick loved ones
        Visitors to the Rehab

The long drive and conversations,
by hesitant lovers and family.
To a place, they pray, ends reservation,
and brings loved ones home again.

As the tree lined road approached,
the driveway brought back anxiety.
They came here unsure and confused,
but still out of love for their progeny.

Abandoning their cars, building courage,
silent prayers, approaching doors.
Then entering the place they knew was refuge,
to visit their sons and daughters.

And husbands and wives, lost for a while,
but given one more chance.
Hugged and greeted, glances and smiles,
Knowing God gave them his hand.

And when they parted, with much tears,
their hearts were filled with joy.
Anxiety gone, along with the fear,
because God was making them whole.
