I put this in short story, but I am unsure as it is really short. Broken heart.
Echoes in the Dark

"I still love you," a voice echoes in the night. She turns slowly, staring into the

starless night. Tears begin pooling in her blue eyes as she whispers, it's too late. If

only he had spoken those words before. She had loved him with all her heart. When

he left she felt that she had died.

Now that she is trying to move on, he came back to haunt her with those words,

"I love you." What kind of torture is this? How much do you have to go through

before you can have the pain released? Does your heart have to be ripped from your

chest? She is trying to scream, but all she hears is the echoes in the dark.

She turns to leave, tears run down her cheeks. Suddenly a noise startles her

and she turns, it is the sound of her alarm clock. She has had this dream again. He

is never coming home. As she reaches up to shut it off, she whispers, "I still love

you."
