Message in a Bottle

Here alone with my memories
re-arranged by the rhythming sound
of pounding waves, is a 'bottle'
I set afloat, with a message inside.

Drifting on a mystic blue Pacific sea
waiting here in my reverie,
betrayed by lies and shattered dreams,
sequestered in the onrushing tide.

Disillusioned now by echoes of hope
shipwrecked, cast upon a sandy shore,
rocked by the sea and winds of fate,
'till my true love comes to rescue me.

Let light from the beacon lead your way
near rocky cliffs where seabirds play,
wedged in sand for what seems eternity,
time and tide have washed over me.

Look in the sea foam along the shore
where seagulls fly and sandpipers go,
search where the tide ebbs and flows,
I'll be waiting for you there.

Now if you should stumble upon this
message of hope,
pick me up and remove the cork,
for I could be your 'True North'.

And I will give you all my heart
all I ask of you, is 'Trust'.
Tho windswept and worn by rolling sand,
take me home in your loving arms.

'Home' by the fire where it's safe and warm
wrapped in a blanket of tenderness,
let peaceful waves of love wash over us.
Never again alone, adrift...
