I have 3 daughters and I miss them terribly. I wasn't there for playtime.
I once had a little girl
I thought I could give her the world
But the world ran away
And I had to stay
To provide for my little girl

Oh the dreams I dreamed
I planned to show her so many things
But dreams fade
And I had to stay
And watch her explore without me

All the days that I planned
To play with her in the sand
I swore I'd be there someday
But I had to stay
And watch them slip through my hand

Now I can feel the distance
Growing with every instant
Gone are the days of play
Because I had to stay
Now all I’m left with is wishes
