A child's curiosity...
There's something you would like to know
It happened a long time ago
I told the person who spoke this fact
That I wouldn't break his secret pact
That I would never tell a soul
Be he human, dog, cat or foal
I thought to tell I'd be deranged
But now I know that times have changed
And so I thought no harm would come
If I was to tell everyone
What I will tell you may sound mad
But this secret came from my dad
As he tucked me in my bed
He looked at me, smiled and said,
'I'll tell you something to make you sleep
It's a memory I dearly keep
And to keep this you must swear
Because for you I dearly care
And I, myself, would feel quite sad
If you, my darling, were called mad
So listen in very well
To what I am about to tell-'
On second thoughts come to think
Our deal was sealed with a wink
And to break my fathers deal
How would that make him feel?
I'm not going to let them hear
A secret that my dad hold's dear
For, to this secret I hold the key
So I think I'll keep this one for me...
