A ride in a balloon had an extra surprise.
Love in the Air

The early morning lights illuminated the path to the field.
Several workers vanished to get the basket from the shed.
Their feelings of anticipation were not being concealed.
Everyone was thinking of the adventure that would begin, in their heads.

The breeze was perfect for a ride they had planned today.
The roar of the burner sent their hearts to a racing beat.
A tear drop shape of the balloon made the cable lines sway,
And a mighty giant would not ascend until it was filled and complete.

Each rider of the hot air balloon Angel, stood still with a happy glow.
The workers paused knowing, their time would come as well.
A hush for luck was given as the crowd on the ground would know,
The love of flying was felt as pride within, you certainly could tell.

Crystal shaped frost appeared on Ed’s glasses as the balloon rose.
Mary’s friends ran to follow the brightly colored carrier of the thrilled pair.
Ed’s next surprise was with a ring and a kiss as he proposed,
For today, they could say that truly, ‘love was in the air!’
