The scent of a horse's nose after it's been worked in the hot sun
BAKING PRETZELS
September 29, 2008

Her nose, baking
like a pretzel in the sun--
heated from work,
from fun, from
kicking up dust and
shying at engine-powered
monsters, yellow land-sharks,
ground-wasps, yeasty,
doughy, pungent, fresh out
of the sun-oven
ready to touch,
to sniff,
ready to kiss.
