A Rose

I think I found a rose today
I had my doubts I must relay
Thorns stuck out from its stem
Pricked my skin and blood came then

But no fear or pain did I feel
And the small wound I did see heal
I brought the rose up to my face
Gave it a whiff, and enjoyed its taste

I take the rose along with me
And hope for the good that I will see
No longer do I see the weeds
That poison my garden and kill the seeds

A rose so red and beautiful within
To ignore it would be a mortal sin
The rose I take again with me
Perhaps my love it will set free.
