silvery spider webs are everywhere
Spider webs in diverse places,
Threads of light that are stuck with glue,
Clinging to fences and flowers,
Crystalline in the morning dew.

Hedges beside a dirt pathway,
Are littered with concentric rings,
Spiders sit patiently inside,
Waiting for grasshoppers and things.

In a backyard beneath a swing,
Hang large ringlets of silver thread
Connecting swing to the green grass,
This is a garden spider’s bed.

You don’t have to look very far,
When searching for hidden treasure,
Countless webs of diamond threads
Hang innocently but secure.
