The importance of play for children.
WORK AND PLAY: a sonnet

When children play they’re busy in their work,
It’s hard to say what is more important.
They play seriously, never do shirk.
Of their work, their play is reminiscent..

Lost in thought about their own pretty games,
Thinking of building plans and their designs,
They also keep fighting and calling names.
They might be tired but none ever resigns.

Playing is essential for children’s growth.
It is the way they learn the facts of life.
Which boy, to play the cop and thief, is loath?
Which girl has not played dolls, husband and wife?

Of learning, playing is another way.
The parents should not frown when children play.
