The struggle someone faces with a diagnosis. [in progress]
A thousand year flood
couldn't wash away
the shame I feel
when I take my pills.

Day after day
they slide down my throat
like the label
I've accepted
the symptoms I've rejected
the things I've recollected
that won't go away.

My face turns scarlet
when you say
“man I feel so crazy”.

You could never really know
the things that I don't show
the energy that grows
inside me every day.
