Sort of a "Wish You Were Here"- lingering on longings.
walking up night streets
nothing to say
up, down, down, up.

feverish in bed
sleeping off solitude
coughing, counting birthdays.

promised snow
given rain
sun, but night.

scarlet ribbon
encircled round
supple waist.

unfurl the sash
enter bright night.

past other starlings
beyond limits.

starlings chirp
even twitter
then placed in
tree nestings.

chirps, twitters,
of everything-
yet the trees remain bare.

welcome moon
sun
welcome night
of half-moon.

above beds
coughs, countings.
