Poem for The Writer's Cramp
Prompt: Write a story or poem that takes place in an ice storm

Crackle, pop goes the wooden blaze,
Pine pitch hiss and sizzle;
The clouds roll in, a misty haze,
They open up and drizzle.

Warmth spreads out beyond the hearth,
Its comfort fills the room;
Orange flames cast light and start
to hold at bay, the gloom.

We sit there, the two of us
staring at the fire.
Fingers touch, our eyes meet thus
burning flames, desire.

Neither howling wind, nor pounding sheets
Of icy rain distract us.
Electric's out, from frozen sleet,
That's still no reason to fuss.

Flesh meets flesh, when we kiss
Flames ignite, and then
Begins an evening filled with bliss,
Warm loving in that den.

No worries of the following morn,
No hoping for the sun.
In that room, a love is born,
Another life begun.
