This was assigned in english as the first assignment of the year
I am from long horse rides in the hills of Orting to
Reliving the days of the Cowboys

I am from loathing mucking the stalls to
Relief when I have finished

I am from shakily applying the halter to a stubborn young horse
To becoming confident and proud of his actions

From the many hugs and kisses from grandparents to
The delectable food set in front of us

I am from the lonely, empty birdcage to
The tree’s boughs that she flew onto,
Away from human’s clutches

I am from friends to laughs of each other’s silliness

This way and that way, I roam,
Here to there, I look
But no matter where I go, memories are
Never too far behind and dreams are never
Too far ahead

That is where I am from
