A poem about a killer who finds redemption and absolution
Looking upon your solid features,
Can I find the answers that I seek?
Have you judged many a creature?
Will I waste my words if I speak?

I’m an unholy monster loosened on this world.
I can’t control my urges, I only want to kill.
I make no excuses for the evil I unfurled,
Man made me what I am, with all my deadly skill.

They took me from the orphanage at night
My innocence in ruins, no family can I claim,
A blank slate to study, the damage, the pain.
A score and one I’ve laid to rest, it’s always been the same.

Will you be my angel of mercy, offering my salvation?
Will you be my angle of death, giving me retribution?
My last kill has made wonder about my damnation.
In his last dying breath he gave me absolution.

Am I truly a slave to the path laid down before me?
Or can my future be rewritten and given back my humanity.
Can I really walk away from this life and flee?
Is it really going to be that easy to lose this insanity?

An epiphany has gripped me, it all becomes so clear.
To change my path and help the hand of good.
The group that had controlled me will see me now and fear,
Before this night is done, my intentions will be understood.

I thank you my winged angel of stone
For listening to my tale
Evil I will do no more in order to atone
To be my own avenger in this I will not fail.
