My thoughts on the issue of race in America.
All this talk about race, most of the time it’s just to fill space.
From black to white and every color in between, it is a mental case.

We are all considered equal, but every color wants a hand up.
They all plead, it’s not my fault, and it’s my background, just step up!

Tragedy and strife is all part of life, no one is rarely exempt.
The strong will learn from it.  The weak will wallow in contempt.

The past though tragic does not measure what anyone can do today.
Those that don’t want to do the foundation work will cry with dismay.

Individual ancestry is meant to be shared within the families with pride.
To be carried on with stories, songs, and pictures to be glorified.

When Martin Luther King said, “I have a dream,” it is now a reality.
Opportunities abound for anyone who reaches for it without duality.

We forget that America is the melting pot; no one “entrĂ©e” rules the dish.
Each personal recipe is unique and should be shared. This is my wish.
