a draft poem i have been writing
Lazing on a sunny day my mind is rolling down a stream
As each day comes and passes by like a nightmare or a dream
While some folks walk in fields of corn, others left alone to scream
And no-one seems to bother what it means

I’m so glad that you’re so clever and you’re having so much fun
Can you tell me why you feel the need to carry round a gun?
There’s no need to be so scared and there ain’t any need to run
Don’t you know that we’re all people ‘neath the sun?

So walk…
Walk away…
To a mountain…
Top to pray
And leave behind you all your anger and your shame
And tell yourself that you’re not the one to blame
And realise that your life ain’t just a game
And come back down to the consequence

Time and time again I wonder at what next my eyes will see
I see you walk so smug and smile, while in your wake churns misery
Don’t you realise that all your lies will leave you all alone
Fall and crumble when you knock upon a heart of stone

So Come…
Come back again…
Tell me my dear…
We still will be friends
