Any girl who wasn't popular in high school will totally get this
More than anything, you wanted to be popular,
Part of the "in" crowd.
Perfect hair, perfect clothes, perfect boyfriend
Perfect life.

I watched you.

"Preps" had more fun and more friends.
They had cell phones and text messages.
Desperately, you wanted to be one of them.

I watched you wish.

The hand-me-downs and "blue-light specials"
Were all your family could afford.
They called you names like "nerd" or "freak",
Some even called you "ugly".

I watched you hide.

With head held high, you got a job.
You had the "in" clothes, styled your hair,
You even bought a car.

I watched you grow.

The "preppy" girls are talking to you,
The think you are the new girl.
Except for one mean, spiteful girl,
Who remembers.

I watched you try.

You're invited to the popular table for lunch.
Tray in hand, heart pounding, you walk over.
Her foot shot out, tripped you, tray and all.

I watched you cry.

Your self esteem crushed, your happiness quelled,
Late in the night, you went for a drive.
A tight corner....a car wrapped around a tree.
In your headlights, you see HER,
You smile as your foot slips off the brake....

I watched you kill.
