This is a rhyming poem about a goat who thinks he's different from others.
William (Billy) Goat

There was a goat named Billy
Who lived where it was hilly.
He tried to be the best he could.
He’d be somebody, yes, he would!

Billy was quite good in school.
He even knew the Golden Rule.
He did his homework every day.
Then off he’d go outside to play.

He loved to dance and play and sing.
It made him feel like he was king.
But Billy wasn’t like the others.
He wasn’t even like his brothers.

Other goats began to tease him,
Even though he tried to please them.
It seemed he couldn’t grow a beard.
This made him feel like he was weird.

His Dad said not to worry, “Mate,
I think you’re just a little late.
Now just be patient, just be brave.
Before too long you’ll have to shave!”
