Written March 2009 Note: punctuation is intentionally missing
dreaming others

brown eyes across the room radiation of energy
passing through full of warmth cheer glowing smiles
tenderness she speaks with others joining inside
some come from different rooms others are unknown
brown eyes meet one smaller than the other
few smiles come from gaze invisible it is better not to be
laughter is nervous covered in doubt
comfort and a tenderness seen by few
simply unsure in response this one can’t
open doors seeking refuge perhaps a guiding hand
laughter energy softness kindness  would do

I hate this one says
me too says another and stands

watch rooms turn different shades
purple orange and yellow lighting
each door one is green black and blue
no other words are spoken it will take time
patient one must be and must tolerance be
for the end of a day will come
listen as shades of purple orange and yellow
turning to sunset with long grass and sounds
crickets frogs dragonflies shoo fly don’t bother me
rocking chair rocks feet on a white banister
the sun sets and stars begin to shine in silence
