So this poem was after my first openly girlfriend broke up with me.
Two That Won One

If one can make two
I felt it one night

I remember your words saying it was right
But one I suppose does also mean two that has won for you

I know how you move your lips
When they say hello or good-bye
But I could never ask lips so beautiful to lie

If one can make two
Then I tried to hold it tight

I remember my fingertips
Making that one into someone
But one I suppose and it shows, is part of two apart now for me too

I know how things were at the start
When your hand mistakenly went to mine
But I could never ask for a false heart- to make believe it would be fine

I remember two perfect circles interwined
There was no way to hide it
I tried to make the one into a better find
But I suppose combined, two minus one is still one

I know how you were scared
When I was giving too much to take
I did not know I should have compared
But baby, I would never ask for something fake

If one can make two I ask of this to do

One- hold onto something strong
Two- keep your eyes open bright
And just like me, you deserve nothing wrong

Because if one can make two
Then, I must believe it can be true
