It never feels good to lose someone
She would cry and cry all night long

Seeking to know what she had done wrong.

Was it the thoughts she thought,

Or the dreams she dreamt?

Maybe it was broken heart she always kept.

Sacred and hidden away from the world

She knew she had a dying little girl.

Everyday and every hour that passed her by

Deep down she knew her baby would die.

Though she promised not to let anything harm her child

The virus was strong and it had gone wild.

She was too poor to buy a cure for the disease

So late one night, her baby, death seized.

She must've dreamed a thousand times

That yet and still her baby was alive

Laughing and playing and running around free

But she had to think twice to realize it was a dream.

Seemed as if every inch of her life was taken away

including her baby, her night, and day.

That tender laugh that always made her glad

Her baby was her joy and all she ever had.
