Why I'm glad I never had children
MY CHILD
March 21, 2009

My child
would have sat on a cliff
all her
life, legs
swinging incessantly over
the foaming,
churning sea pinned
against a white sky like
a moth in a solitary
Collection.
My child
would have been flat,
abstract, alone and
wanting and
miserable
wondering who she was
and why.
