A work in progress...criticism is welcome!
Little Girl

Look back at the little girl in the pink velvet dress,
you'd never think her life was a mess,
the little girl without any shame,
well look at her now, look at what she became,
Look back at the little girl who would never lie,
look at her now, how she just wants to die,
the little girl who told her parents her life,
well look at her now she's hiding a bloody knife,
The girl who used to have so many friends,
but they all left her in the end,
the girl who never dreamed of cutting her wrists,
now she's making a farewell death list,
The girl who thought love was just a game,
now because of love she's in so much pain,
the little girl with a smile on her face,
now she can't smile, she can't find her place,
Now that little girl has grown so dark,
all because of a broken heart,
she became what she never wanted to be,
that little girl turned into me,
I hardly tell the truth anymore,
I cut behind a soundproof locked door,
I cry the same tears every night,
because I want to lose this fight,
I will just remember back to a time,
when my mom used to say "That girl is mine!"
Instead of now when she turns away,
and she says "You’re such a mistake, go away."

Just so you know this is, again, written for a friend. Not saying I haven't felt this way but this is truly how my friend describes her life to me. Rate and Review, please!
