A poem about playing recreational hockey.

When I lace up my blades,
I don't care I don't get paid,
I would do this my whole life long.
Now, you may say that is wrong,
To have so much love for this game,
Even though I'm kinda of lame.
In the rink it gets me by,
Until I get out to my ride,
And see the gas tank is on the E,
Then I remember, hey life ain't free.
If only I could play like a pro,
And not be a below average Joe.
I have dreams that I know are fiction.
While working to support my addiction,
I guess at least it ain't crack,
Even though I skate like I'm whacked.
I love so much to score a goal,
Goalie must have a weak five-hole.
An assist for me is really great,
Then to the bench I will skate,
For to catch some much needed air.
A win is cool but I don't care,
It's all fun and so I'm in luck,
Win or lose, I don't give a puck.
