Fast, almost free-flowish, poetry about a woman that is leaving alone.
And you aren’t the reason
That I might be leaving
I am sure you have
Some big plans made up for me
But my bed is only large enough
For many many blankets
But not for two
No, not for you.
Somewhere out there
There is a place just like home.
Somewhere under a naked sky
Is a little niche
Where my crazy is welcome
Where you can breathe in-
Whatever kind of air you want
And you can say whatever
And if you feel like singing
Well then you sing really really loud.
If you feel like curling up in a corner-
And watching the shadows make pictures on the walls-
Well then you dream and you just keep dreaming until
You can dream all awake like.
And that picture you have in your head
It can make a place in your heart
A place that everyone can come to
And not get hurt.
So, if I am scared now
It is only because I am a puppy…
Once I was a cat all curled up on your lap.
But, no…now I am just a puppy.
However, not as cute as I used to be-
Lost nonetheless.
So if I leave,
It will be alone,
Kind of like I am now.
Only more solid
And with a little more “umph”.
If you know what I mean?
