This is a poem, about me and my dad,
He Was A Sad Man
By Savanna Ewing

We laughed and played,
Until he walked in.
He worked all day, it was hot out.
When he came home, the party stopped.
Me and her, knew to be silent.

He sighed, and frowned,
He put me and her down.
His day was long, and did everything wrong.
She tried to talk, she tried to care.
But he was has hard as a rock.

When I was small, I thought he had it all
I never understood, why he shouted at all.
The tears keep falling, his hand keeps raising.
I am scared of my own home, God please save us.
With age I came to hate him. And so I did.

The years went by. He made me and her cry.
I wished he would die, I wished she would try and leave,
I hung my head, and hated me more than him.
One day I looked back on him and I.
And I thought, he must be a lonely guy.
Then I let my head hang down....
And I cried for the first time for him....
Because he was a sad man.
