an explanation of one of the 7 deadly sins
Pride

Of all the seven deadly sins,
Mine is the deadliest,

Pride is my life,
My saving grace.

Pride is my dignity,
And my honour.

Pride is something complex,
Something not easily understood.

Its something you find,
Like a suit of armour

Suddenly the weak become strong,
Suddenly I became something different.

I’ll never fill it,
but that’s the attraction.

I’ll always get stronger,
But never strong enough.

That’s the drive,
The meaning of my life.

To fill that suit of armour
To become that knight

Black or white,
That’s a choice I'll have to make.

Maybe it’s a good thing,
Or maybe its not.

The Pride consumes me,
damning me to hell.

I can’t seem to live without it,
But even if I could I wouldn't want to.

It’s a like a drug you know is poison,
But you can’t stop taking it.

I put myself in danger,
Just to test how far I can go.

What doesn’t kill us can only makes us stronger,
That’s where my weak spot lies.

The armour’s perfect,
I am not.

I would drown before I shed my armour to save myself,
why should i leave behind whats kept me alive for so long.

That’s why pride is the deadliest,
Because I know how its ends.

But I take the plunge anyway.
