Fool me once, shame on me. *If you read it, please rate it!!*
Fooled, such a fool,
Take out these eyes and see for yourself.
Consequences of steel and mortar foundations
Not yet finished and stable.
Hear a beat of echoing drums,
Pulsing like an empty heart in the city.

Fooled, such a fool,
Descent from the sky too easy.
Float down with wings strapped on tight,
Land quietly, unannounced.
Spread your arms far and wide,
Is everything yours for the take?

Fooled, such a fool,
A small crack in the heart opened wide.
Light shines out, supernova eclipse,
Warm and inviting in the conclaves of the mind.
Drink up, sweet decadence,
Never mind the smiling goblet you sip from.

Fooled, such a fool,
Insignificant little speck.
Is it reality you assume,
Or reality that assumes us?
Gamblers debt, but at what cost,
Roll the die and wait for snake eyes.

Easily fooled, what a fool,
Threw trust into a bubbling vat of poison.
Live richly in your poverty,
Grovel in your tainted crown of thorns.
I won't be around when you realize
Just who the foolish one was.
