The inner conflict of liking someone but being afraid to take a chance on them, enjoy.
I’ve been building walls of misanthropy,
But you keep finding a way.
A way to plant a seed; apathy,
Ror this hope stains.
I’m becoming apathetic to my distrust in mankind;
Still this is nothing new to me,
For I would be more careless if it was.
If I slip into something more comfortable and familiar to me,
I may fog out of the spot light.
Safe is nothing to me,
Not now.
Safety has only given me less room to breathe.
Security is nothing but a thin, subtle blanket,
Of suffocation.
It’s a kind of warm,
Spine tingling,
And safe façade
That only brings us down,
Slows us down,
And causes us people to leave things of importance,
Meaning,
And life behind us.
I've been building walls of misanthropy,
But you keep finding a way.
A way to disappoint me,
But this seed is here to stay.
