A non-rhyming poem for my love, who was elsewhere at the time.
I sit here alone
My head in my hands
Thinking of you
My wings, lifeless
Those around me
Spread their wings
Take to the air
Soar away
Leave me here
Bound and broken
Flayed and splayed
Feeling alone
Ice under foot
On ground
And on tree
Ice inside
In mind
And heart
Spirit frozen
Weighted down
Bitter ocean
For me to drown
Wings of black
Skies of grey
I sit here alone
Thinking of you
