A poem about the darkness within.
I live now in the darkness of the night.
When the sun rises it hurts my eyes.
The cold outside makes the ground turn white
Echoing the chill that lives inside.
Empty inside, empty place.
Empty soul and empty face.
Keep your light and love and feeling,
You know inside your soul is screaming.
Look at me and see not yourself,
See not your neighbor or anyone else.
For I am something you can't comprehend:
A dark, cold, emptiness without an end.
I speak not the truth, don't allow you to see,
The truth you can't handle, the truth of me.
Like a blade that runs across my skin
This blackened darkness pushes in,
Leaves gaping wounds right through my being.
My heart spills out for none to see.
Dark blood spills onto my shoes,
Every drop I stand to loose,
In this hell of my own making.
My spirit free for the taking,
Or all that is left of a spirit corrupt
By all this wickedness that fills me up.
