This darkness is consuming...
I sit quietly in my room,
And walk into the darkness,
Leave behind the light,
Knife held at the ready.
Thoughts of madness fill my head,
Of days before and after,
This darkness is consuming,
My sense has now been clouded.
I think of her my muse and love,
Now I am without her.
I sit quietly in my room,
Knife held at the ready.
My thoughts turn now to madness,
And regardless of my will,
The blade tips to my arm,
Lower, lower, lower, still;
Over my thigh it hovers,
Darkness fills my mind,
The blade begins decent,
Draws across my thigh,
Pain now floods my senses,
But my thoughts soon return,
I’m left to wonder why?
Why self mutilation,
Why cause more pain,
To solve which hurts so much?
My heart has all but broken,
But my mind remains strong.
I cast aside the blade,
Forget this insurrection;
I walk into the light,
And leave behind the darkness.
