They say people come into our lives for a reason or a season....
I remember your
infectious laughter,
wearing a sun soaked smile
that went on for miles -
miles of smiles --- smiles for miles...

Not at all concerned that you were
shattering my
flight-of-fancy fantasies -
whimsical notions made from silly potions...

incorporating me into you.

You were a fresh breath of reality
teaching me humility,
caressing my bruised ego,
nurturing,
so that I may get a sense of my own amour-propre...

You appeared at time I don’t recollect;
with a guiding hand
and a warm heart you helped me
open my eyes wide to
receive tears of real truths -
and again, your smile
on a warm summer’s eve,
a gentle reminder to not bury myself;

no longer a need to hide
as fantasy collides with reality...

incorporating you into me.
