A struggle with life's decisions

Shall we love our brothers frail
when all our deepest hopes have failed
and vision filled with horseman pale?
Soli Deo gloria

Shall we teach the masses young
or cross the desert, burning sun
and from this evil world to run?
Soli Deo gloria

Shall I find my angel bright
of whom I dream throughout the night
or lose this dearest, gentle light?
Soli Deo gloria

Shall I learn to be a saint
and beauty of His picture paint
or holiness with sin to taint?
Soli Deo gloria

Countless ages fill my mind
but shall we ever come to find
their truths to which we are now blind?
Soli Deo gloria

Sweetest songs now fill the ear
of purest hopes and bitter fears
shall we laugh or come to tears?
Soli Deo gloria

Now I end this rhythmic song
of sylvan joys and all our wrongs
I pray His coming shan't be long!
Soli Deo gloria

Mox veni nobis, Pater Noster. In nomini tui, amen.
