55-word story about an embarrassing moment.
One half mile from dollar store, half mile from my house, gallon jug of bleach busts through plastic bag, exploding across my bare leg. Frustrated--dripping, fuming on bright, polluted, six-lane Avenida Mexico, I shrug and crack up. Walking toward me, father gripping pigtailed daughter's hand and sleepy baby to chest looks past, pulling slightly.
