a poem about a peculiar dream
My eyes were heavy with sleep,
I lay my head on the pillow,
Strange thoughts in my mind did creep,
To a world of fantasy, I then said,"Hello"!
I dreamt of people weeping and sighing,
They were bothered by their riches,
And beautiful damsels were on the verge of crying,
For handsome lads craved the witches.
Intelligent men were looked down upon,
While fools were unaware of the word 'scorn',
Alchohol was consumed like medicine,
And tablets were considered as the original sin.
Parents wept oceans at the birth of a boy,
While arrival of a girl was followed by joy.
Little kids were encouraged to eat chocolates,
Women had moustache while men wore lockets.
Pious were the people who were diabolical,
And religious priests were no more ethical,
Men with grey locks were obsessed with the fast pace,
While young men preferred staying a mile away from the arena of the race,
Before this dream could get more peculiar,
I opened my eyes to a world more familiar.
From that day onwards i slept with my mum,
For i feared at night, what dreams may come!
