thoughts about a father's hands
The strong hands that grasped mine
As we walked together
The gentle hands that took me
Forever on our wedding day
The calloused hands that comforted me
Through my pain
Will someday be
The strong hands holding your daughter
Touching her precious face
Teaching her to walk
Holding her tight
And someday
Her soft little hands
Will reach up and take hold
Of your loving hands
