i wish this skin weren't me.
i wish this skin weren't me.
rough freckles, growing lines.
expanded where it need not be.
dyed my hair blacker. coarser.
covered coming grays.
cover-up applied. thick mascara.
every
single
day.
brittle nails and off-white teeth.
the dullest eyes ever seen.
i am what i am today,
but i wish this skin weren't me.
