Taking just a moment from our lives to think through the events of the day
Crash!
Another mess I’m in
You’d think I’d learned by now
To be strong rather than follow.

Temptation has whipped me once again.
I know - yes I know, I’m just a man.
But, I believe in God’s perfection
And I feel he was a part of this selection
Which now burdens by soul …
Dissuading me from feeling whole.

So I wander.
And I wonder
What is next on the list
Of sinister traits He’ll insist
On using to distract me
From the total harmony
That I crave…
So, I’ll save
My next ounce of energy
To pray searchingly
For forgiveness.
And kindness -

From those who do not understand
Why I am not able to comprehend
The differences they attest to
That affect my solitude
And peace of mind
As I begin to find

That love is not found from what I receive;
But it is the acceptance I believe
We all must embrace,
Thus putting sin in its place.

In God’s hands …
Not our own.
