A brief meeting of our eyes laid the foundation for our next meeting.
We met with just a glance of co-incidence;
Our eyes reaching out, then pulling away.
I sensed some sort of hidden beauty …
So my eyes searched for more.

The next glance became a smile,
As recognition cleared the way.
I don’t think we knew each other,
Yet, something deep inside felt comfortable.

We pause for an instant,
Debating whether to bridge that unseen gap.
It depended on other voices, other thoughts,
Whether there was time enough to share.

An ever so slight change of pace occurred,
As fascination penetrated our hearts.
My mouth opened and I said, “Hi …”
Yours returns the favor.

As we passed, I couldn’t resist the temptation
Of watching you saunter by.
A reassuring smile sustained my glance,
And built the anticipation for our next rendezvous.
