Meeting someone new?
If I flash you a smile,
Will you return me a grin?
If you saw me walking,
Would you let me hop in?

When the path‘s shown,
This is all that we’ve got,
Only each other,
Only our trade off

If I give you a call,
Will you come to my door?
If you give me your name,
I’ll give you more

When the dust settles,
And it’s all that we’ve got,
Only each other,
Only our trade off

If I push you away,
Will you stay anyway?
If you stay there,
I’ll let you be near

If I show you my hands,
Will you put your heart in them?
If you reveal your wishes,
I’ll share my dreams,

‘Cause when the air clears,
This is all that we’ve got,
Only each other,
Only our trade off.

If I dance with you
As long as you want,
Will you keep playing the music
Long after we’ve stopped?

If I sing you a song,
Would you listen well?
If you share with me your laugh,
I’ll go along no matter what,

So when the crowd’s gone,
And it’s all that we’ve got,
Only each other,
Only our trade off

If you whisk me away for a sunny afternoon,
I’ll go willingly,
And when I decide,
Will you stand by me?

If I give you an inch,
Will you take a mile?
If you surrendered happily,
I’d love you all the while,

For when life’s at it’s darkest,
This is all that we’ve got,
Only each other,
And the things we have done,
Brighter and stronger
Than the warm morning sun,
Only each other
It’s all we’ve got
You and I alone,
And our trade off.
