Speculations and ramblings.
Do you ever think about birds?
Sometimes, tired and depressed, I look up and wish I was a bird. I wish those wings were mine. I would gladly give my arms for those feathered things.
Do you think that maybe birds envy us?
Do you think that after a long, long day, they rest their aching bodies against our cool marble buildings and wish with all their hearts for legs?

Do you ever think about stars?
They have become a symbol of light, of hope. Airy and beautiful and impossibly far away.
Stars spend their lives burning.
All we see are the remnants of the flames. Stars send us photographs of what the apocalypse would look like from mars.
Let's set the world on fire. It will glory in its burning and become a second sun.

We breathe the same air the dinosaurs breathed.
We drink the same water that was in the cup of Aristotle.
We are ancient, young things.
Let's learn how to dance.
