A ballad.
She was divorced
And his had just died
They weren’t looking for anything
But comfort and soothing
Looks that were tired
But still full of life

They tried and tried
To keep it as friends
But they couldn’t resist
Just how perfect they fit
So they let it be

Monday romancing,
Tuesdays go dancing,
Wednesdays for roses
They both just fall in

For love after love
Kiss after kiss
Who could go tell them
What they’d have to miss?

When he gets sick
And it’s a big one
The hospital tells her
There’s nothing to be done
So she’ll miss that

Monday romancing
Tuesdays go dancing
Wednesdays for roses

While Thursday she knows it
On Friday she’ll deny it
But Saturday when she admits
And she just can’t outwit…
She’ll still have the memories
Fond memories of

Monday romancing
Tuesday go dancing
Wednesday roses
Letting her fall, but…

Sunday will come
She’ll say her goodbyes
She’ll wear her best
She says she knows that she’ll cry
But she won’t bring roses,
And she’ll tell you why…
She says that’s for Wednesdays
Which is not for a while
