Why?

Why do stars fall
in the Autumn
when the seasons change,
when the sweet Summer
deserts us?

What is the point
of reaching
Beyond
to taste the
Forbidden Fruit
only to watch
our bodies
Wither
with poison?

Where do the old go
to rest
after they’ve tasted
the Sun
on their skin?
Or better yet,
where do the young go
to reflect on
their foolish desires
and repent
their foolish acts
which ended in
their fictional
Romantic
Tragedy?

To frolic
in the diseased meadows
they sowed
so blindly.

Who deems
Man
to undergo
such illusions
that lead to
Nothing
but perpetual
Suffering
not even immortals
could withstand?

When does
this bleeding
cease to
Torment
our dying hearts,
our lonesome hearts,
our misled hearts?

Why must the stars fall
like teardrops
in the Autumn
when the seasons change
when the sweet Summer
and its memories
abandon us?
