An entry into the "cramp" for their daily prompt. a lizard, a doll and subtraction.

Count with me

Ten lizards lying
lazily in the sun.
Nine creep away
Leaving only one.

Nine turtles tanning
Top the water blue
seven slip away
Leaving only two.

Eight ponies perfect
prance before thee
Five gallop off
leaving only three

Seven tops turning
twirling on the floor
three topple over
leaving only four

Six bees busy
building their hive
One buzzes off
Leaving only five

Five cats curious
all in a fix
One pitches in
Now there are six

Four balls bouncing
bravely to the heavens
Three more returned
Now there are seven

Three cookies crunchy
Crumbling on your plate
"Five more please"
now there are eight

Two dolls darling
delicate and fine
Seven friends arrive
Now there are nine

One firefly flashing
Flickers once again,
Nine come and join him
Now there are ten
